教學目標:本課程除了對研究法作廣泛的介紹外，並加強統計學的基本原則和方法，以及統計學在社會科學的運用，期使同學對統計在研究政治現象所扮演的角色有深入的瞭解。並配合統計軟體的介紹與實作，使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。第一學期著重於社會科學的研究法，第二學期著重於資料的分析和統計學實務的研討和實作。
主要內容:(1) 社會科學研究法，研究的基本概念和研究設計；(2) 統計學在社會科學的運用與角色；(3) 統計分析的方法(使用MS EXCEL)；(3) 統計軟體的認識與使用(SPSS PC+)。Teaching objectives: In addition to giving a broad introduction to research methods, this course also strengthens the basic principles and methods of discipline and the application of discipline in social sciences, so as to enable students to have an in-depth understanding of the role of discipline in studying political phenomena. And cooperate with the introduction and implementation of the statistical software to enable students to conduct independent data analysis. The first period focused on research methods in social sciences, and the second period focused on analysis of data and research and implementation of statistical practices.
Main content: (1) Social science research method, basic concepts and research design of research; (2) the application and role of statistical science in social science; (3) methods of statistical analysis (using MS EXCEL); (3) the recognition and use of statistical software (SPSS PC+).
本課程旨在訓練政治系同學在計量研究上的理論與實務，以便於未來無論在學術上或實務上瞭解社會、政治及經濟現象的本質，並能知道如何針對實際問題，提出研究計畫並實地從事蒐集資料，進一步分析得出結論。本課程主要分為四大部份：經驗研究的基礎；研究的設計與結構；資料的蒐集；資料的統計與分析。
This course aims to train the theory and practice of students in the Department of Political Science in the field of measurement, so that they can understand the essence of social, political and economic phenomena in the future, whether they are academically or practically, and can know how to identify actual problems, propose research plans, and actually collect data from time to time, and draw conclusions from further analysis. This course is mainly divided into four major parts: the foundation of experience research; the design and structure of research; the collection of data; the statistics and analysis of data.
