International Organizations

教育目標 Course Target

The course is organized in 2 semesters and designed for the students to understand both the theory and practice of International Organization(IOs). It begins by reviewing the main theoretical perspectives of IOs, and hopefully leads to the different understandings of IOs derived from these theories. The course, then, follows by focusing on specific IOs from the League of Nations to UN(and to the WTO hopefully), although regional IOs are studied as well. Finally, we would exam state compliance with international organizational directives and what the impacts the international organization activity would be on the sovereign states.

課程概述 Course Description

本課程目標是帶領同學瞭解現今各重要的國際組織。重點為聯合國,包括成立歷史背景與宗旨、憲章精神、組織機構、功能與任務以及面臨的挑戰。上課方式是採取教師授課與同學討論的方式進行。內容設計上是以思辯為主,因此會輔以國際關係理論來進行。

The goal of this course is to lead students to understand today's important international organizations. The focus is on the United Nations, including the historical background and purpose of the establishment, the spirit of the seal, organizational structure, functions and tasks, and challenges faced. The course is conducted by teachers' discussions with classmates. Content design is mainly based on thinking, so it will be carried out based on international relations theory.
