本課程目標旨在讓同學瞭解
1.貨幣、金融中介機構以及金融市場之間的交互作用。
2.銀行在金融體系的角色與演變。
3.貨幣創造、貨幣需求以及貨幣政策的效果與影響。
4.金融部門與總體經濟之間的關聯性。本課程首先針對金融體系的綜括性介紹，其中也包含介紹金融市場中的各種金融交易工具，進而利用資產組合選擇理論與流動偏好理論來決定金融市場上的利率，並討論利率的風險結構、期限結構及其應用。同時，而金融中介機構高流動性負債及低流動性資產是其經營特質，也是造成金融體系不穩定的重要因素，因此，本課程除了介紹金融中介機構所扮演的角色以及近年來的轉變，也將討論金融體系運作常見的問題與解決的方式，進而探討銀行的經營管理原則，並提供基本經濟分析工具討論金融部門對於總體經濟的影響，讓學生能完整的了解貨幣、金融中介機構以及總體經濟之間關聯性的全貌。

The goal of this course is to enable students to understand
1. The interaction between money, financial intermediaries and financial markets.
2. The role and evolution of banks in the financial system.
3. Money creation, money demand, and the effects and impacts of monetary policy.
4. The correlation between the financial sector and the overall economy. This course first provides a comprehensive introduction to the financial system, which also includes an introduction to various financial trading instruments in the financial market, and then uses the asset portfolio selection theory and liquidity preference theory to determine interest rates in the financial market, and discusses the risk structure, term structure and applications of interest rates. At the same time, high-liquidity liabilities and low-liquidity assets of financial intermediaries are their operating characteristics and are also important factors causing instability in the financial system. Therefore, in addition to introducing the role of financial intermediaries and their changes in recent years, this course will also discuss the operation of the financial system. Common problems and solutions are discussed, and then the operating and management principles of banks are discussed. Basic economic analysis tools are provided to discuss the impact of the financial sector on the overall economy, so that students can fully understand the relationship between currency, financial intermediaries and the overall economy.

由基本的經濟理論探討金融市場的結構、金融機構的管理、及貨幣政策在經濟體系中所扮演的角色，並整合金融市場、金融機構、國際貨幣與金融體系之近代發展及理論基礎。
