台灣每年消耗依賴進口能源高達97％。因為有限的全球石油能源，大幅度能源價格波動，可再生能源技術正在迅速發展並實施世界各地。可再生能源技術的跨越範圍從發展到商用。一些已經有顯著的貢獻，現在電力供應達到零或減少對環境的排放。本課程介紹了主要的新興可再生能源方案的技術和經濟地位，使學生有背景的預估其未來業績和成本。在教學過程中，各種可再生能源技術進行介紹。同時這課程把可再生能源發電技術領域的指導放在一起，讓學生了解清潔能源的未來有用的資源。能源技術介紹及應用, 包括太陽熱能, 太陽能電池, 風力發電,水力發電, 地熱發電, 生物質生物燃料, 微型燃料電池, 海洋潮汐發電, 海洋洋流能, 海洋波浪發電, 海洋滲透能, 氫能, 及儲能。

Taiwan relies on imported energy for up to 97% of its annual energy consumption. Because of limited global petroleum energy and large energy price fluctuations, renewable energy technologies are rapidly being developed and implemented around the world. Renewable energy technologies span the spectrum from development to commercialization. Some have already made significant contributions, now reaching zero electricity supply or reducing emissions to the environment. This course introduces the technical and economic status of major emerging renewable energy options, giving students the context to estimate their future performance and costs. During the teaching process, various renewable energy technologies are introduced. At the same time, this course puts together guidance in the field of renewable energy power generation technology to provide students with useful resources for understanding the future of clean energy. Introduction and applications of energy technologies, including solar thermal energy, solar cells, wind power, hydropower, geothermal power, biomass biofuels, micro fuel cells, ocean tidal power, ocean current energy, ocean wave power, ocean infiltration energy, hydrogen energy, and energy storage.
