Taught in English

Creative Writing of Philosophy Stories for Children

Course Target

In order to combine basic philosophy courses with creative practice, philosophy education will be rooted downwards and reach the goal of extending the reach of philosophy education. In this course, teachers and students will work together to use their ingenuity and creativity to select several chapters or paragraphs from famous Chinese and Western philosophical works and rewrite them into philosophical stories suitable for primary and middle grade children. Then we guide students who choose the course to actually tell stories to primary school students in reading activities or courses in primary schools, and use their adapted philosophical stories as teaching materials. This course aims to inspire students' creativity and originality by adapting esoteric and difficult philosophical texts into approachable stories. In addition, through the practice of rewriting philosophical stories and storytelling activities at primary school teaching sites, students can move from the academy into the field of actual creation and teaching, and realize the value of learning and practice.
