本課程在於使學生對於莊子思想熟悉,其中用船山,方以智等人的理解為主,船山注莊的特色在於援莊入儒,蓋船山為儒家,批評莊子之處少,因為莊子與儒家有其相通之處,莊子的齊物精神,與易傳的對待的看法有其相似處,但還是有些微差別,船山認為生死夭壽禍福都以德行面對之,而莊子回應之以自然,故有其相似處,亦有不同之處,方以智的藥地炮莊,乃認為莊子是孔門托孤,有其三教合一之傾向,又明末四大禪師,如憨山大師解莊解老,都值得研究

This course aims to make students familiar with Zhuangzi's thoughts, among which Chuanshan, Fang Yizhi and others' understandings are mainly the understanding. The characteristic of Chuanshan's Zhuangzhuang is that he aided Zhuangzi in Confucianism, and built Chuanshan as a Confucianist. There are few criticisms of Zhuangzi, because Zhuangzi and Confucianism have their similarities. Zhuangzi's spirit of equalizing all things is similar to the view of Yi Zhuan, but there are still some similarities. There are some slight differences. Chuanshan believed that life, death, longevity, misfortune, and blessings should all be faced with virtue, while Zhuangzi responded with nature, so there are similarities and differences. Fang Yizhi's Yaodi Paozhuang believed that Zhuangzi was an orphan of Confucius, and had a tendency to unify the three religions. The four great Zen masters in the late Ming Dynasty, such as Master Hanshan's explanation of Zhuang and Lao, are all worthy of study.
