每次藉由提供不同的話題，增加學生接觸各種不同領域知識的機會，以擴充視野並能藉由事前資料調查增廣見聞，充實交談討論內容。話題性質將集中於人文社會政治國際等較硬性的話題為中心，提升思考性或學術性探討能力。
在於培養學生獨立思考的能力，並訓練學生如何聆聽別人的意見，截取其發言重點，針對該發言重點應對，簡單明瞭地傳達自己的想法。由教師提供不同的話題,學生透過演講,討論以及辯論等方式訓練日語表達能力。
