3. 了解古希臘各地的特殊人文風貌。本課程閱讀古希臘文唯一留傳下來的旅行文學，西元二世紀保塞尼亞 (Pausanias)所寫的《描述希臘》，目的是了解古希臘的地理，以及各地的人文與歷史背景。藉由對古希臘地理的了解，我們將能把歷史上的事件，放入它們的情境當中，把討論的事物在時空中定位。
保塞尼亞生於現在的土耳其，當時在羅馬帝國的管轄之下。他熱愛希臘，遊遍希臘南部，以古希臘文寫下鉅細靡遺的筆記。據他所說，當時至少有十九位旅行家，但是只有保塞尼亞的筆記留傳下來。
除了地理知識，保塞尼亞往往帶入當地的歷史、當時的生活、儀式祭典、居民的信仰、傳說與民俗，因此提供了區域常久以來發展的情況，實為文化地理的書寫。藉由這個課程，同學應能熟悉希臘的地理，以及當時各地的歷史與人文風貌。1. Understand the geography of ancient Greece.

3. Understand the special humanistic styles of ancient Greece. This course reads the only travel literature that has been passed down from ancient Greek, "Description of Greece" written by Pausanias in AD II, with the purpose of understanding the geography of ancient Greek, as well as the humanities and historical backgrounds in various places. Through our understanding of ancient Greek geography, we will be able to put historical events into their situations and position the discussed things in time and space.
Bosenia was born in today's Türkiye, and was under the control of the Roman Empire. He loved Greeks and traveled all over the southern part of Greece, writing detailed notes in ancient Greek. As he said, there were at least nineteen travelers at that time, but only Paulsenia's notes were left behind.
In addition to geographical knowledge, Posenia often brings local history, life at that time, ceremonial festivals, residents' beliefs, speeches and folk customs, thus providing a situation that the region has developed over a long time and is actually written as a cultural geography book. Through this course, students should be familiar with the geography of Greece, as well as the history and cultural styles of various places at that time.
