Know relevant research methods 本課程介紹古希臘的歷史,自西元前二千年到西元前一世紀末。這一段時間在政治、哲學、文學、科學、藝術與文化的成就,對西方的影響非常巨大。課程進行大約按照時代順序,勾勒重要的政治、社會及文化發展的重要主題,以及與異文化之間的接觸與影響。課程從青銅時代、黑暗時代、前古典時期、古典時期、到泛希臘化時代,其中也對重要的主題進行說明,例如: 城邦、殖民、專政、民主,也包括主要的政治實體,例如: 雅典、斯巴達、馬其頓。課程將呈現古希臘的歷史是如何建構,同時也將介紹研究所需具備的基本能力。 This course is to introduce ancient Greek history, c. 1500-31BC. In this period the achievement in politics, philosophy, literature, science, art and culture, has great impact on the western civilization. The course will basically follow chronological order, to illustrate important political, social and cultural issues, as well as contact with foreign cultures and their influence. It will cover the bronze age, dark age, archaic period, classical period and Hellenistic period. Topics will include polis, colonization, tyranny, democracy, and political bodies such as Athens, Sparta and Macedonia. The course will also show how Greek history was established, and will introduce primary requirement for the research.1. Understand the general outline of ancient Greek history. 2. Understand the important topics of ancient Greek history. 3. Understand the literature of ancient Greek history. 4. Understand the research methods of ancient Greek history. Teaching goals: 1. Know relevant research methods This course introduces the history of ancient Greece, from the 2000th BC to the end of the Imperial Century. This period of time has had a huge impact on the West in politics, philosophy, literature, science, art and culture. The course is held in a convention in the order of the times, outlining important topics of political, social and cultural development, as well as the contact and influence with different cultures. The course also explains important topics, such as: city-state, colonization, discipline, democracy, and major political entities, such as: Athens, Sparta, and Macedonia. The course will present how the history of ancient Greece is constructed, and will also introduce the basic abilities required for research. This course is to introduce ancient Greek history, c. 1500-31BC.
