課程以中文系同學之需要而設計（有一年以上文學專業知識訓練但未修過西方文學課程者）。
一、介紹西方文學傳統：以精讀作品文本與歷史述說方式進行。
二、反思中國文學課題：以比較文學方式進行中西文學對照與反思。古典文學（閱讀二手資料）：從希臘羅馬至文藝復興
現代文學（英美詩歌原文、法文詩翻譯、小說翻譯）：
詩歌部分：英美德浪漫詩──何爾德林、華茲華斯、雪萊、濟慈、惠特曼、荻金蓀。法國象徵詩──波特萊爾、藍波。
小說部分：法俄寫實小說──莫泊桑、契科夫、拖爾斯泰。現代主義小說──卡夫卡、卡謬The course is designed according to the needs of Chinese students (those who have been trained in professional knowledge in literature for more than one year but have not studied Western literature courses).
1. Introduction to Western literature traditions: by carefully reading the text of the work and historical statements.
2. Reflect on the topic of Chinese literature: Comparative literature and reflection on Chinese and Western literature. Classical Literature (Read second-hand information): From Greek Roma to literary revival
Modern Literature (original text of British and American poems, French poems, novel translation):
Poems: Romantic poems of Britain, America and America - Holland, Huazwas, Sherry, Jirtz, Whitman, Di Jinli. France symbolizes poems - Porterle, blue wave.
Novel section: French and Russian novels - Maupassant, Chekov, and Tolstey. Modernist novels - Kafka, Kazu
