這門課程回顧台灣為殖民地時，以日語為國語作為統治的手段教授語言教育的歷史，討論現行的第二語言教育、外國語教育的目的與方法應該如何進行。
另外，邊閱讀語言教育、語言學習、研究方法相關之論文，邊理解語言教育的研究課題，重新思考語言教育、語言學習應有的狀態。
This course reviews the history of language education when Taiwan was a colony, using Japanese as a national language as a means of governance, discussing how the purpose and method of current second language education and foreign language education should be carried out.
In addition, read articles related to language education, language learning, and research methods, understand the research topics of language education, and rethink the conditions that language education and language learning should have.
