本課程以鴉片戰爭至清末新政時期的中國外交為範圍，依各主題介紹相關主要研究成果，解釋架構及爭論重點。並介紹主要史料，引導學生使用一手外交檔案，練習撰寫報告。希望能藉此增進學生對近代中國外交史的理解，加強英文閱讀能力，學習使用一手史料，奠定進一步研究的基礎。

This course is based on the Chinese diplomacy from the Douzi War to the New Policy period of the late Qing Dynasty. It introduces relevant research results based on each topic, explains the structure and the key points of the dispute. It also introduces the main historical materials, guides students to use first-hand diplomatic files, and practices writing reports. We hope to improve students' understanding of modern Chinese diplomatic history, strengthen their English reading ability, learn and use first-hand historical materials, and lay the foundation for further research.
