中國戲曲至明代掀起了另一個創作的高峰,除了出現與元代雜劇並駕齊驅、各領風騷的諸多優秀傳奇作品,並呈現出具有時代特色的審美標準與主題內涵。而中國戲劇理論承繼先秦以降藝術和文學理論的傳統,並隨著戲劇創作的蓬勃發展,逐漸產生了許多精微深刻的戲曲理論,而在明清兩代展現出集大成的成熟表現。
這門課將聚以明清兩代重要的戲曲理論以及傑出劇作進行討論,除了讓中文系研究生對於中國戲古典劇理論有一基礎之認識之外,同時將搭配相關劇本的閱讀與討論,檢視劇論與劇作之間的呼應關係,藉以理解古典戲曲的藝術特色以及古典劇論開展的依據,進而確立如何鑑賞古典戲劇的審美標準。Chinese opera reached another creative peak in the Ming Dynasty. In addition to the emergence of many excellent legendary works that kept pace with the Yuan Dynasty dramas and took the lead, they also presented aesthetic standards and thematic connotations with the characteristics of the times. Chinese drama theory inherited the tradition of art and literary theory since the pre-Qin Dynasty, and with the vigorous development of drama creation, many subtle and profound drama theories were gradually produced, and they showed mature expressions in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
This course will focus on the important opera theories and outstanding dramas of the Ming and Qing dynasties for discussion. In addition to giving graduate students of the Chinese Department a basic understanding of the theory of Chinese opera, it will also be paired with the reading and discussion of relevant scripts to examine the drama. The corresponding relationship between the theory and the drama is used to understand the artistic characteristics of classical drama and the basis for the development of classical drama theory, and then establish the aesthetic standards for appreciating classical drama.
