台灣廟會活動是當今台灣民間活力最為豐沛、與庶民生活關係最密切的常民文化,全臺各地不分山海城鄉、不分歲時四季,隨時呈現出一片莊嚴隆重、生氣蓬勃的廟會活動景象,充分顯現台灣常民生活文化的精神凝聚力。透過本課程的介紹探討,可以讓修習學生觀察、體會台灣庶民生活層面的宗教現象,擴大人文視野及襟懷,進一步學會用理解和包容的態度,深入探索和欣賞另一種灣生命力的文化現象。以此培養學生求真、篤信、力行、宏通的基本素養,達成博雅教育目標。Taiwan's temple fairs are the most vibrant folk culture in Taiwan today and are most closely related to people's lives. 透過本課程的介紹探討,可以讓修習學生觀察、體會台灣庶民生活層面的宗教現象,擴大人文視野及襟懷,進一步學會用理解和包容的態度,深入探索和欣賞另一種灣生命力的文化現象。觀察及探索台灣民間信仰與節慶中的廟會活動,以了解此項活動的文化內涵,對其傳承、發展、變遷及現況做深入分析介紹與討論,增進對台灣廟會文化呈現於社會之意義與功能的認知。
