遷移是一種為了安頓與定住在一個地方的行為。由於人類與生俱有追求美好生活的本能，因此，遷移現象在人類歷史上亙古以來即已存在。直至近代，隨著十五世紀末西方航海探險活動及其所帶動的各項變遷，促使人類的遷移活動愈加頻仍，當代各區域間的政治、經濟與社會發展上的差異，更造成龐大的人口流動。本課程主要探討近現代人類的遷移活動，特別集中在猶太人、華人、愛爾蘭人、日本人、義大利人、印度人、盎格魯薩克遜人、拉美裔、非裔等民族的遷移歷史，分析討論促成人類遷移的原因、遷移所衍生的社會適應、民族文化認同等問題，並介紹研究遷移行為的理論與相關研究成果，引導學生以小見大，更深入理解與思考人類歷史發展的各種面向，期能培養本校學生具有析辨思維與組織整合能力，能欣賞與尊重多元文化差異，能尊重生命與關懷人類整體價值，具備國際視野能力。Migration is the act of settling down and staying in one place. Since human beings are born with the instinct to pursue a better life, the phenomenon of migration has existed since ancient times in human history. Until modern times, with the Western maritime exploration activities at the end of the 15th century and the changes they brought about, human migration activities became more frequent. The differences in political, economic and social development among contemporary regions have also caused huge population flows. . This course mainly discusses the migration activities of modern humans, especially focusing on the migration history of Jews, Chinese, Irish, Japanese, Italians, Indians, Anglo-Saxons, Hispanics, Africans and other ethnic groups, analyzing and discussing The causes of human migration, social adaptation derived from migration, national cultural identity and other issues, and the theory and related research results of studying migration behavior are introduced to guide students to see the big from the small, and to have a deeper understanding and thinking about various aspects of human historical development. We hope to cultivate students in our school to have analytical thinking and organizational integration abilities, to appreciate and respect multicultural differences, to respect life and care for the overall value of human beings, and to have an international perspective.
