目的在使學生修習如何鑑定植物，如何找出分類群間的相關性，野外如何認識植物，如何製做植物標本，如何描述特徵、繪圖、及拍攝植物照片。
The purpose is to enable students to learn how to identify plants, how to find out the correlation between taxa, how to recognize plants in the wild, how to prepare plant specimens, and how to describe characteristics, draw, and take photos of plants.
