本課程介紹辛亥革命至二次世界大戰時期的中國外交，引介中西各家研究成果、解釋架構，試圖跳脫出過去民族主義史觀的限制，以較宏觀的視野，將民國外交置於東亞與世界外交的發展中考察。希望能幫助學生較全面的理解民國成立以來，中國努力加入西方為中心的近代世界體系歷程中，遭受到的衝擊、挫敗，以及所作努力與成就。

This course introduces China’s diplomacy from the Revolution of 1911 to World War II. It introduces the research results and interpretation frameworks of various Chinese and Western scholars. It attempts to break away from the limitations of past nationalist historical views and examine the diplomacy of the Republic of China in the development of East Asia and world diplomacy from a broader perspective. I hope it can help students have a more comprehensive understanding of the impact, setbacks, efforts and achievements China has suffered in its efforts to join the Western-centered modern world system since the founding of the Republic of China.
