This course focuses on instructing students how news articles and feature stories are written for publication.
Students learn why news writing is completely different from essay writing, how to research, plan, write, edit and rewrite stories either for print or online publication.
They also learn clear and critical thinking and maintaining objectivity and avoiding libel.
The skills taught in this course have real-life applications, such as problem solving, dealing tactfully with others, getting facts straight and expressing oneself clearly and forcefully.
