This elective seeks to analyze and examine design and innovation that envision from variegated perspectives to improvise form, functions and meanings in strategic urbanism that make up the basis for future cities.
This elective emphasis the process of how current cities and architecture work, i.e. look at and analyse [city design and function], and particularly “find ways to dramatically improve them, with efficiency, with [technology] engineering, and with innovation.” (Sarah Griffiths on Dyson, J. in MailOnline June, 2015), [Emphasis added].
The elective has the following objectives:
1. Familiarize with urban design thinking and identify existing problems in cities;
2. Learn to integrate and devise appropriate tools to optimize evaluation on tenants of design principles and elements in current cities; and
3. Learn to redesign cities with innovation.
