2. Compare the playing methods of various schools and their status in the history of piano technology evolution. ?
3. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each school of piano performance technology and the reasons why it has been eliminated or reformed. ?
4. Understand the performance theories and piano teaching methods of important piano teachers in the past. ?
5. Understand the important pianists, piano educators and their performance views from past and present times.

本課程的教學目的為一、 獲得批判各派別之鋼琴演奏技術的基本知識與能力。二、 研討鋼琴演奏技術的發展史：包括縱向的歷史觀；橫向的地域觀及當代的演奏趨勢。三、 探討各學派之鋼琴演奏技術，其長短處，及改革之原因。四、 認識歷代重要鋼琴教師之演奏理論與鋼琴教學法。五、 認識歷代及現代重要鋼琴演奏家及其演奏觀點。

The teaching purpose of this course is: 1. To acquire the basic knowledge and ability to criticize various schools of piano performance techniques. 2. Discuss the development history of piano performance technology: including a vertical historical view; a horizontal regional view and contemporary performance trends. 3. Discuss the piano performance techniques of each school, their strengths and weaknesses, and the reasons for reform. 4. Understand the performance theories and piano teaching methods of important piano teachers in the past. 5. Understand the important pianists of past and present times and their performance perspectives.
