大多數的研究生都會被要求唸許多的論文(包括中文、英文論文),但卻很少被教導如何去唸論文,也很少有機會好好地去消化論文的內容,這也使得修課、唸論文與自己的關係是疏離的。本課程希望可以改變這樣的閱讀習慣,我們好好地來唸、來消化少少幾篇,但卻是在「以證據為基礎的社會工作實務」這個領域很重要的論文,透過閱讀、引導、討論及反省,來吸收及理解其中的核心觀念,並與社會工作實務相對照,藉此重獲閱讀的樂趣,並與自己碩士班的學習產生更強的聯結。
「以證據為基礎的社會工作實務」已是社會政策與社會工作領域一個重要的概念與實務指導圭臬。然而,在理性主義強而有力的展現形式底下,以證據為基礎的社會工作實務往往被窄化於醫療模式的認識論之下,而高舉實證取向的研究證據,其他認識過程所生產出來的證據因而被貶低。本課程嘗試透過閱讀經典著作,以及對話、討論與分享,重新思考證據的根本意涵,希望可以帶領修課同學從認識的過程來思辨「運用在社會工作領域中的證據到底是什麼?」這個根本的問題。
Most graduate students are required to read many papers (including Chinese and English papers), but they are rarely taught how to read papers, and rarely have the opportunity to properly digest the contents of the papers. This also makes taking courses, reading papers, and themselves alienated. This course hopes to change this reading habit. We should carefully read and digest a few papers, but they are very important papers in the field of "evidence-based social work practice". Through reading, guidance, discussion and reflection, we can absorb and understand the core concepts and compare them with social work practice, thereby regaining the pleasure of reading and forming a stronger connection with the study of our master's class.
"Evidence-based social work practice" has become an important concept and practical guideline in the fields of social policy and social work. However, under the powerful display of rationalism, evidence-based social work practice is often narrowed under the epistemology of the medical model, and empirically oriented research evidence is exalted, while evidence produced by other cognitive processes is belittled. This course attempts to rethink the fundamental meaning of evidence through reading classic works, as well as dialogue, discussion and sharing. It is hoped that it can lead students to think about the fundamental question "What is evidence used in the field of social work?" from the process of understanding.
