Sociology of Culture Seminar: Auto-sociography
教育目標 Course Target
本課程旨在探討和求索「自傳的社會學書寫」之可能,並將之暫名為「自我社會誌」。相較於傳統的自傳大都集中在個人生平事蹟,「自我社會誌」之特點在強調時代與個人的多重疊合、歧出、對映、互涉。相較於許多學者的自傳(如Clifford Geertz, After the Fact (1995) 中譯本《後事實追尋》群學出版社,2009;《社會學家何為?》,北京大學出版社,2010)大多停留在「學術自述」的層面,將焦點集中在academic research/career development上,「自我社會誌」企求以自我生命敘事,對所經歷過的戰後台灣現代性進程做濃描述與深度詮釋。
This course aims to explore and explore the possibility of "sociological writing of autobiography" and tentatively named it "auto-sociology". Compared with traditional autobiographies, which mostly focus on personal life stories, the characteristic of "auto-sociology" is that it emphasizes the multiple overlaps, divergences, contrasts, and interactions between times and individuals. Compared with the autobiographies of many scholars (such as the Chinese translation of Clifford Geertz, After the Fact (1995) "The Pursuit of Post-Facts" Qunxue Press, 2009; "What is a Sociologist?" Peking University Press, 2010), most of them stay at the level of "academic autobiography" and focus on academic research/career In terms of development, "self-society" seeks to use the narrative of one's own life to give a detailed description and in-depth interpretation of the process of postwar Taiwan's modernity that it has experienced.
