Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Management
教育目標 Course Target
This course is designed for IE graduate students to learn the realities of modern manufacturing and the modern manufacturing approaches and technologies. Topics will include automated flow lines, assembly line balancing, numerical control, CAD/CAM, control theory, process control, production planning, group technology, and flexible manufacturing systems and majorly will focus on the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). Additional topics included industrial robotics, programmable logic controllers, automated assembly systems, material handling and storage, automatic identification techniques, shop floor control, and the future automated factory will also be covered in this course.
The objective of this course will be designed to help students to learn the realities of modern manufacturing which includes the following issues: globalization, international and local outsourcing, contract manufacturing, trend toward the service sector, quality expectations, need for operational efficiency; and the modern manufacturing approaches and technologies which includes: automation, material handling technologies, manufacturing systems, flexible manufacturing, quality programs, computer-integrated manufacturing and lean production aspects.
