一、 了解明初文學作家如何繼承元代耆老開創出新的局面。
二、 探討明代初期作家分布情形，作為地域文學研究之開端。
三、 探討明初詩學發展偏重於南方吳、浙、贛、閩、粵五大地區，並試圖了解這五大地區詩學發展之異同。
四、 了解明代初期小說、散文、戲曲之發展。
五、 嘗試重新撰寫明初文學史。

1. Understand how literary writers in the early Ming Dynasty inherited the elders of the Yuan Dynasty and created a new situation.
2. Discuss the distribution of writers in the early Ming Dynasty as the beginning of regional literature research.
3. Discuss the development of poetics in the early Ming Dynasty, focusing on the five major regions of Wu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong in the south, and try to understand the similarities and differences in the development of poetics in these five regions.
4. Understand the development of novels, essays, and operas in the early Ming Dynasty.
5. Try to rewrite the literary history of the early Ming Dynasty.
