本課程的主要目標有兩個，一個是希望讓修習的同學們對於專利法與商標法的基礎理論有最起碼的理解；另一個是希望讓修習的同學們可以對實務上的運作有基本的概念。

The main goals of this course are twofold. One is to provide students with a basic understanding of the basic theories of patent law and trademark law; the other is to provide students with a basic understanding of practical operations.

本課程係在教授智慧財產權法的兩大領域，即專利法與商標法，專利法著重在保護文化的創新，商標法則著重在保護正當競爭交易秩序，是企業經營不可或缺的利器。在時間分配上，專利法約佔總授課時間的3/5，商標法則佔約2/5。在授課內容上除了法規理論的講解外，亦會配合實際案例的說明，使修習者不但可對此兩門法律的規範內容有基本的認識，而且對實務上的操作有一般性的理解。

This course teaches two major areas of intellectual property law, namely patent law and trademark law. Patent law focuses on protecting cultural innovation, while trademark law focuses on protecting the order of fair competition and transactions. They are indispensable tools for business operations. In terms of time allocation, patent law accounts for about 3/5 of the total teaching time, and trademark law accounts for about 2/5. In addition to explanations of legal theory, the teaching content will also be accompanied by explanations of actual cases, so that practitioners can not only have a basic understanding of the normative contents of these two laws, but also have a general understanding of practical operations.
