1、介紹社會工作基礎理論與方法，目的在使同學培養洞察力、培養剖析診斷人與社會問題的能力，及解決問題能力。
2、介紹社會工作發展歷史，使修課者瞭解社會工作的願景與價值，能為社會工作在社會中的角色／任務／功能，做恰宜的定位與反省。
3、此課程對修課學生培養表達能力、思辯能力、整合能力、自我學習能力、社會關懷能力等面向上有一定的助益。

1. Introduce the basic theories and methods of social work, with the purpose of enabling students to develop insight, the ability to analyze and diagnose human and social problems, and the ability to solve problems.
2. Introduce the history of the development of social work, so that course participants can understand the vision and value of social work, and make appropriate positioning and reflection on the role/tasks/functions of social work in society.

什麼是社會工作？這是所有社會工作實務工作者、學習者、乃至教育者的不斷追問。在大學第一年裡，我們將要針對這個問題，進行概論性的介紹。它主要包括社會工作的意義與緣起、社會工作專業化的歷程、社會工作專業所涉及的價值與倫理、社會工作主要的服務方法、以及針對不同人口群的實務處遇方法等內容。透過這些內容的引介，我們期望可以引發社會工作新生的熱忱與興趣、培養同學由社會工作角度關切社會問題的能力與態度，以便為日後的學習作好初步的準備。

What is social work? This is a constant question for all social work practitioners, learners, and even educators. In the first year of college, we will give an introductory introduction to this issue. It mainly includes the meaning and origin of social work, the process of social work professionalization, the values ​​and ethics involved in the social work profession, the main service methods of social work, and practical treatment methods for different population groups. Through the introduction of these contents, we hope to arouse the enthusiasm and interest of new students in social work and cultivate their ability and attitude to care about social issues from the perspective of social work, so as to make preliminary preparations for future studies.
