近幾年來，社會企業的風潮方興未艾，其以市場營利的商業機制為手段，實踐非營利組織的公益目標。此一行動模式，以創新方法解決社會（或經濟、環境等）問題，體現了非營利組織與企業的聚合形態，亦成為促進社會平等、帶動社區發展的新手段，其運作與成果正是反思「利他型資本主義」（altruistic capitalism）的重要基礎。本課程透過社會企業個案與理論的交互檢證，探討其於社區／社群發展之影響，並從經濟社會學角度加以反思，據以掌握其發展的社會意義和公共價值。

In recent years, the trend of social enterprises has been in the ascendant. They use market profit-making commercial mechanisms as a means to implement the public welfare goals of non-profit organizations. This action model uses innovative methods to solve social (or economic, environmental, etc.) problems, embodies the aggregation form of non-profit organizations and enterprises, and has also become a new means to promote social equality and drive community development. Its operation and results are an important basis for reflection on "altruistic capitalism." Through cross-examination of social enterprise cases and theories, this course explores its impact on community/community development and reflects on it from the perspective of economic sociology, so as to grasp the social significance and public value of its development.
