生活中的許多面向都與時間相關，從永恆、宇宙運行，乃至日常生活。它不僅涉及世界的想像與構成，更影響個人和集體生命的形塑。再者，時間也作為許多知識、學科的不同預設而起著作用。本學期課程「時間與社會」旨在探究社會中的時間想像和規則，以及社會學者們與社會思想家們如何處理時間論題。希望通過文本研讀，來幫助我們管窺時間的奧秘、時間與社會的關係、社會學的時間想像，並藉以返回自身生命，豐富並深化自己對於時間的感受、想像與思辨。

Many aspects of life are related to time, from eternity, the movement of the universe, and even daily life. It not only involves the imagination and composition of the world, but also affects the shaping of individual and collective life. Furthermore, time also plays a role as a different presupposition for many knowledges and disciplines. This semester's course "Time and Society" aims to explore the imagination and rules of time in society, as well as how sociologists and social thinkers deal with the topic of time. I hope that through text study, we can help us understand the mystery of time, the relationship between time and society, and the sociological imagination of time, so that we can return to our own lives and enrich and deepen our feelings, imagination, and speculations about time.
