為使大一新生能有更好的數學基礎修習微積分、線性代數、統計學等數理專業課程，故開設此門課培養大一新生的數理能力，並且銜接高中數學與大學數學間的落差。此外，也讓學生能夠適應閱讀原文書籍與資料，以期學生面對高年級數理專業課程時能更快步入軌道。因此本課程目標：
１、培養學生數理邏輯思考的能力。

２、銜接微積分、線性代數、統計學等數理專業課程。

３、幫助學生適應閱讀原文書籍與資料。

４、訓練學生書寫計算與證明過程的完整性。

In order to enable freshmen to have a better mathematical foundation to take professional courses in mathematics such as calculus, linear algebra, and statistics, this course is offered to cultivate the mathematical abilities of freshmen and bridge the gap between high school mathematics and college mathematics. In addition, it also allows students to adapt to reading original books and materials, so that students can get on track faster when facing advanced mathematics and science courses. Therefore the objectives of this course are:
