在深刻動察人性的基礎上，霍布斯尋求建立其政治秩序的構想。而其對於道德與政治事務思考的結果，就呈現在《利維坦》一書中。事實上《利維坦》對於人與上帝、自然和國家之間關係的論述，對西方的政治哲學思想產生了深遠的影響。本課程旨在透過《利維坦》的探究，以便學生能夠切實地掌握霍布斯的道德與政治思想。本課程希望達成以下三項目標：一、闡述與分析霍布斯的《利維坦》一書，使學生對其要點具有一定的認識。二、透過原典的選讀，加強學生在研讀與理解原典方面的能力。三、使學生能夠體系性地掌握霍布斯道德與政治哲學的要旨，以便奠定日後相關研究之基礎。

On the basis of a profound observation of human nature, Hobbes sought to establish his conception of political order. The results of his thinking on moral and political affairs are presented in the book "Leviathan". In fact, "Leviathan"'s discussion of the relationship between man and God, nature and the country has had a profound impact on Western political philosophy. This course aims to enable students to truly grasp Hobbes' moral and political thoughts through the exploration of "Leviathan". This course hopes to achieve the following three goals: 1. Expound and analyze Hobbes' "Leviathan" so that students have a certain understanding of its key points. 2. Strengthen students’ ability to study and understand original texts through the selection of original texts. 3. To enable students to systematically grasp the gist of Hobbes’ moral and political philosophy, so as to lay the foundation for future related research.
