「現代理論與趨勢」(Current Practices) 是一堂專門開給作曲主修與電子琴主修的必修課程. 本課程的目標是提供修課學生深入且徹底研讀與分析樂曲的技巧, 曲目為十九世紀末至二十世紀中期各創作學派的代表作品. 指定曲目(target study)在學期初即列入課程大綱, 其研讀進度則視學生的需要及其課堂表現來做調整, 並適時加入補充教材或更換曲目. 由於這是專給學習創作者的進階課程, 因此授課採“independent study”的方式, 任課老師的角色著重在課堂中與學生共同思辨、研究討論的過程, 盡量減少單向的知識傳播; 而該生的隨堂報告與參與課堂討論的狀況為主要的成績評量依據. 隨堂考或學期考會因著學習效率與進度的考量列為可能的評分方式. 由於此課程是超小班制, 且修課學生都是同時與我修習一對一作曲課的學生, 因此藉著深入研究重要曲目, 可順勢延伸至各學派寫作手法的探討;根據往年開課的經驗, 這樣的課程是最能提供學生在創作上最實際的啟發與幫助.Current Practices is a compulsory course dedicated to composer majoring and electronic piano majoring. The purpose of this course is to provide students with in-depth and thorough study and analysis of music. The repertoire is a representative work of various creative schools from the end of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. The target study is included in the course at the beginning of the school year, and its study progress depends on the needs of students and their class performance, and add supplementary textbooks or replace repertoire at appropriate times. Since this is an advanced course dedicated to learning creators, the teaching method adopts the "independent study" method, and the role of the course teacher focuses on the process of thinking and researching discussions with students in the classroom, and minimizes the spread of single-directional knowledge; the student's report on the classroom and the status of attending the classroom discussion is the main basis for performance evaluation. The class or the school exam is listed as a possible scoring method due to the consideration of learning efficiency and progress. Since this course is a super small class system, Moreover, the students in the course are students who study one-to-one composition courses with me at the same time. Therefore, by in-depth research on important repertoire, they can be smoothly extended to the exploration of writing techniques of various schools. Based on the experience of courses in previous years, this course is the best way to provide students with the most practical initiation and help in creation.
