電影在二十世紀被廣稱為『第八藝術』，是由於在電影裡包含了文學、舞蹈、音樂、戲劇、建築…等藝術類別。本課程期望由於電影的解讀使學生了解電影影像與藝術的關係，並分析不同民族的電影美學及各重要導演的影像風格。
Film was widely called the "eighth art" in the 20th century because it included literature, dance, music, drama, architecture, etc. This course hopes that through the interpretation of movies, students will understand the relationship between film images and art, and analyze the film aesthetics of different nations and the image styles of important directors.
