健康與病痛社會學（Sociology of Health and Illness）具備廣泛的研究關懷，如
個人健康、疾病分布、醫療經驗、醫療產業、醫護制度、身體經驗等面向皆是
此領域所熱切討論的議題。隨著健康社會學五十年來的蓬勃發展與本身的議題
多元性，此領域蘊含的各式提問亦逐漸各自累積出獨特的典範取向與豐富傳統，
並值得獨立討論之。因此，本課程將以健康社會學的核心提問—健康階層或不
平等（Health Stratification or Inequality）—為授課軸線，藉由回顧近年來的相關
期刊論文，帶領同學了解此議題的意義性、既有發現與對應的研究方法。基於
此類型提問普遍運用計量式的實證分析策略，本課程亦會適時針對相關的統計
