本課程之教學目標在於啟迪研究生對於日本政府體系的理解認知與研究興趣，進而培養我國知日人才。The teaching goal of this course is to enlighten graduate students’ understanding and research interests in the Japanese government system, and then to cultivate talents in my country who know Japan.
近代日本影響台灣的政治與社會深遠，故有培養學生具備日本政府與政治之基礎認識之必要。本課程以日本戰後的政治發展為基礎，探討其憲政架構、政治體制、政黨派閥、民主發展、經濟社會變遷、以及外交關係等課題。本課程之教學目標在於，希冀啟迪研究生對於日本政府體系的理解省思與研究興趣，進而培養我國知日人才。
Modern Japan has had a profound impact on Taiwan's politics and society, so it is necessary to cultivate students' basic understanding of Japanese government and politics. This course is based on the political development of Japan after the war and explores its constitutional structure, political system, political parties, democratic development, economic and social changes, and foreign relations. The teaching goal of this course is to inspire graduate students to understand and reflect on the Japanese government system and to develop research interests, thereby cultivating talents in my country who understand Japan.
