This course is designed to meet the needs of technology or business management students. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the theories and practices of quality control. There are simple but powerful techniques that have been widely used in many industries to improve product and service quality and to reduce costs. The most effective use of these techniques depends on their being understood by people. Topics discussed in this course including inspection, test and measurement, statistical tools for analyzing data and hypothesis testing, statistical process control, and managerial concepts. The aim of giving just enough theory to supply practical working rules will enable one to recognize the limitations of the methods as well as their many uses.
