（一） 使學生簡單瞭解大衛休謨(David Hume)之為哲學家的生平與著作、思想背景與思想要旨、其對當代西方哲學的影響及其定位。
（二） 透過對休謨哲學原典An Enquiry concerning the Principles of Morals的研讀，瞭解其情感主義、自然主義和效益論的道德哲學思想。According to the book Hume's Inquiry concerning the Principle of Morals
(1) To enable students to have a brief understanding of David Hume’s life and works as a philosopher, his ideological background and gist, his influence on contemporary Western philosophy and his positioning.
(2) Understand Hume’s moral philosophy of emotionalism, naturalism and utility theory through the study of An Inquiry concerning the Principles of Morals, the original text of Hume’s philosophy.
