本課程的主要有三個學習目標：一是修習本課程後，能對古代身體觀研究的基本關懷、重要主題與研究歷程的演變，有一定的認識。二是能具備獨立研讀相關原始或研究文獻的能力，以此作為細研古代身體觀研究的基礎。三是能以古代身體觀為研究對象，具有深刻的主題意識，發掘研究課題，並具有獨立完成論文寫作的能力。
