1. 著重於培養同學們透析西方近代歷史發展趨勢與特質的能力，並能建立一套解釋歷史觀來建構歷史脈絡，並評估西洋歷史於未來的走向。
2. 希望能引導同學了解西洋近代文明發展過程，並思考西洋近代歷史的演變，從而培養宏大的世界觀。
3. 訓練同學們獨立思考的能力、培養對人文世界的關懷，以建立理性、感性兼備之獨立人格。
4. 通過跨歷史、跨文化與跨社會的方法為背景來為學生闡述西方近代世界的形成，透過引導誘發同學們批判性思考的能力，以及對歷史文化問題探索的興趣，從中學習如何發現問題、解決問題。

1. Focus on cultivating students' ability to analyze the trends and characteristics of modern Western history, and be able to establish a set of historical perspectives to construct historical structures, and evaluate the direction of Western history in the future.
2. I hope to guide my classmates to understand the development process of modern Western civilization, and think about the evolution of modern Western history, so as to cultivate a grand world view.
3. Training students' ability to think independently and cultivate their concern for the human world to establish an independent personality that is rational and emotional.
4. Through the cross-history, cross-cultural and cross-society methods as background, we will describe the formation of the modern Western world for students, and learn how to find and solve problems by guiding and fostering students' ability to think critically and their interest in exploring historical and cultural issues.
