擅長漢語對話、漢字書寫，理應是炎黃子孫與生俱來的能力，然而近年，由於偏重全球化、西化的緣故，吾人漸不精於用華語文來聽說讀寫，頗有棄離自家寶藏之憾。
本學年課程，主要是引領修課者叩訪描寫文、敘述文、說明文、議論文等四大文類。課程以兩個軸線進行：一、配合上課單元，閱讀多元的文字作品；二、實際練習寫作。希冀藉由「閱讀」，開拓修課者的視野，增加見地的深度與廣度，讓心愈益敏銳、柔軟，並相輔應證寫作技巧多元展現的可能面貌；希冀藉由「寫作」，平順思路，釐清思緒，讓心漸漸沈澱、靈徹，讓飄渺的靈思漸能凝聚成形，並身體立行揣擬寫作理論；希冀藉由「習作檢討」，讓修課者發現自己文章形式與內容上的優缺處，並在討論氛圍中，激盪更多靈感。Good at writing Han language and writing Han characters should be Yan Huangzi's innate ability.
