教育目標 Course Target
長久以來,產品設計專業普遍被用於服務企業,用於生產消費性產品,促進社會經濟發展。然而,近年來國內外設計思潮已開始意識到資本主義下以經濟利益為導向的「大量生產−大量消費」為社會帶來多方面的負面衝擊,也對於產品設計以主流社會為對象,將某些族群(幼童、高齡者、孕婦、身障者、第三世界…等)的需求排除在外的設計思維提出批判與反思。
因此,本課程將導入服務學習概念,以田野研究教學模式,實際帶學生走入東海大學臨近的南寮社區,使學生在課堂中習得社會企業的相關知識後,能以社會關懷及公民介入公共政策的態度,從真實的社區環境與社會問題中探索設計存在的價值及必要性,並導入適切的設計方法與流程進行社會企業創新實作。
主要學習目標為:
1. 培養社會關懷與公共參與的公民態度與基本認知
2. 鍛鍊洞察問題的觀察力及剖析問題的歸納整合能力
3. 建立對社會企業的基本認知,並了解其運作的模式與方法
4. 培養以社會設計模式,進行調查、提案、檢證之設計實踐能力
5. 學習團隊工作之溝通、協調、合作能力
For a long time, product design majors have been commonly used to serve enterprises, produce consumer products, and promote social and economic development. However, in recent years, design trends at home and abroad have begun to realize that the economic profit-oriented "mass production and mass consumption" under capitalism has brought many negative impacts to society. They have also criticized and reflected on design thinking that targets the mainstream society and excludes the needs of certain groups (young children, the elderly, pregnant women, the disabled, the third world, etc.).
Therefore, this course will introduce the concept of service learning and use a field research teaching model to actually take students into the Nanliao community near Tunghai University. After acquiring relevant knowledge about social enterprises in the classroom, students can explore the value and necessity of design from real community environments and social problems with an attitude of social care and citizen involvement in public policies, and introduce appropriate design methods and processes for the innovative implementation of social enterprises.
The main learning objectives are:
1. Cultivate citizen attitudes and basic cognition of social care and public participation
2. Exercise the ability to observe and analyze problems, and the ability to summarize and integrate them.
3. Establish a basic understanding of social enterprises and understand their operating models and methods
4. Cultivate design practice capabilities for investigation, proposal, and verification using social design models
5. Learn the communication, coordination and cooperation skills of team work
課程概述 Course Description
社會企業是近年被用以解決或改善社會問題的商業模式之一,本課程將介紹社會企業的發展背景、起源、經營模式等知識性內容,同時企圖導入服務學習概念,使學生透過田野研究模式進行社會企業的設計實踐。主要將引導學生以設計思考為基礎,系統性及整合性地了解社會(社區)面臨的問題與挑戰,在與社區居民共同參與提案的過程中,落實如何透過設計與社會企業的經營改善社會問題。
Social enterprise is one of the business models that has been used to solve or improve social problems in recent years. This course will introduce the development background, origin, business model and other intellectual content of social enterprises. It also attempts to introduce the concept of service learning so that students can carry out the design practice of social enterprises through field research mode. It will mainly guide students to systematically and comprehensively understand the problems and challenges faced by society (community) based on design thinking. In the process of participating in proposals with community residents, students will be able to implement how to improve social problems through design and social enterprise management.
