近三十年來賽局論已成為一門不可或缺的研究領域。其方法論非常廣泛地應用在許多學科上,包括經濟學、政治學、生物學、哲學、法律、社會心理學、商學、國際關係以及資訊科技等。當決策者追求某一外生目標時,他知道他的行動會影響其他決策者的行為,若其他決策者也同時如此考慮時,賽局理論能幫助我們找出參賽者的策略抉擇。鑑於賽局理論已是經濟學的必備分析工具,這門課程的目標不但要讓學生瞭解理論,更著重此理論在經濟學及其他學科上的應用。
Game theory has become an indispensable research field in the past thirty years. Its methodology is widely used in many disciplines, including economics, political science, biology, philosophy, law, social psychology, business, international relations, and information technology. When a decision-maker pursues an exogenous goal, he knows that his actions will affect the behavior of other decision-makers. If other decision-makers also consider this at the same time, game theory can help us find out the strategic choices of the players. Since game theory has become an essential analytical tool in economics, the goal of this course is not only to allow students to understand the theory, but also to focus on the application of this theory in economics and other disciplines.
