本課程目標在針對博物館與文化的關係進行專題研究。
1.探究博物館與社區互動、社區文化教育的關係。
2.探討21世紀快速發展中與地方文化緊密結合的社區博物館之緣起、生態博物館，與博物館之社群參與，使學生瞭解晚近博物館類型的衍生概念、內容與重要性。
3.探討博物館對文化再現對知識傳遞的影響。The purpose of this course is to conduct a special study on the relationship between museums and culture.

博物館與美術館是歷史與社會文化的產物。本課程將博物館（museums）、博物館學（museology）與博物館誌（museography）放在社會文化的脈絡中，視博物館/美術館及其相關社會事實為一個整體，通過內在的、歷史的、地域的、比較的、以及實踐的詮釋觀點，依序探討相關博物館學的主題。
