主要是藉由後社會主義(post-socialism)的分析，來說明中國大陸自一九八八年實行《村委會組織法》至今，在中國農村推動基層民主試驗，所產生效應。一方面是介紹中國大陸在經歷改革開放之後，對其採取基層民主的試驗之影響，另一方面亦要介紹基層民主對於中國地方政府的職能轉換與地方經濟政策選擇的影響，進行深入淺出的介紹，同時亦透過中國大陸基層民主的推動，來檢視中國大陸民主化的問題。It mainly uses the analysis of post-socialism to explain the effects of mainland China's promotion of grassroots democratic experiments in rural China since the implementation of the "Village Committee Organic Law" in 1988. On the one hand, it introduces the impact of mainland China's experiment with grassroots democracy after undergoing reform and opening up. On the other hand, it also introduces the impact of grassroots democracy on the functional transformation of Chinese local governments and local economic policy choices, giving an in-depth and simple introduction. At the same time, it also examines the issue of democratization in mainland China through the promotion of grassroots democracy in mainland China.

This course is designed for graduate students who are enthusiastic for learning about Chinese local governance. This course will focus on the post-Mao era of local political and economic development and the relationship between centre and local government
It mainly discusses the current development status of local politics and economy in mainland China and the transformation of the relationship between the central and local governments after the reform and opening up in a simple and in-depth way.
This course is designed for graduate students who are enthusiastic for learning about Chinese local governance. This course will focus on the post-Mao era of local political and economic development and the relationship between center and local government
