本課程為本系「資訊安全管理與應用」學程的基礎課程之一，也是大學部三、四年級與碩士班一年級之選修課程，本課程所包括的範圍有實體安全、使用者辨識、存取控制、密碼學、管理控制、以及法律制裁等六大主題。
有鑑於資訊安全的重要性，介紹與資訊安全相關的議題，除了由老師授課之外，亦會邀請資安相關的業界人士舉辦演講，不僅讓學生對資訊安全有基本的認識，也可讓學生了解現階段業界對於資安領域的重視程度與實際的做法。修完此課程之後，除了對資訊安全有的整體的觀念，也有助於後續各項資安課程的學習，以及取得資安學程證書。
This course is one of the basic courses of the "Information Security Management and Application" program of the department. It is also an elective course for the third and fourth years of the undergraduate department and the first year of the master's program. The scope of this course includes physical security, user identification, Six major topics include access control, cryptography, administrative control, and legal sanctions.
In view of the importance of information security, topics related to information security are introduced. In addition to lectures by teachers, information security-related industry professionals will also be invited to give lectures.
