This course is presented to provide graduate students (at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tunghai University) with fundamental and design aspects of biological treatment processes. An understanding of biological treatment operation requires knowledge in both microbiology and reactor engineering areas. The main objective of this course is to integrate the theoretical and design facets of biological treatment processes such that underlying principles form the basis of engineering design, operation, and optimization. This course is presented to provide graduate students (at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tunghai University) with fundamental and design aspects of biological treatment processes.
Enable students to learn the basic principles, combination procedures and design of treatment systems for biological treatment of water and wastewater. It mainly discusses the biological treatment of organic pollutants and introduces specific environmental biotechnology, with a special focus on anaerobic biological treatment. Thermophilic microbiology, and the role of thermophilic microorganisms in the treatment of environmental pollutants and industrial applications.
