儘管當今的生產管理技術因著資訊科技的進步有許多的突破，製造過程的本身仍需要透過自動、半自動、或手工的加工或裝配程序來達成。為了確保製造過程能貫徹生產計劃及產品規格，該過程必須被有效地加以監控。
Although today's production management technology has made many breakthroughs due to the advancement of information technology, the manufacturing process itself still needs to be achieved through automatic, semi-automatic, or manual processing or assembly procedures. In order to ensure that the manufacturing process can produce plans and product specifications, the process must be effectively monitored.
