In contemporary Western philosophy, Ottoman thinkers are in a special position. They are not only striking between Ottoman tradition and European thoughts, but also wandering between the special theories of Ottoman chosen people and the universal theories of objective truth, which leads to their thoughts often show fusion and resistance The characteristics of both abilities, such a force, make the philosophy they created often difficult to form a comprehensive and rounded system, showing a high degree of attractiveness and appeal, and often point out the disadvantages of Western culture in a bloody way. . Two contemporary Joseon thinkers were selected for this course: Martin Buber and Abraham Joshua Heschel. They share the Hasidism tradition in the ecclesiastical religion. This tradition has mysterious and ecclesiastical characteristics, is concerned with inner life, is committed to developing ecclesiastical spirit, and at the same time openly dialogues with other traditional worlds, criticizing the secular life of the present day The way is obvious. This course will bring students to read two small books by these two thinkers, dig deep into their ideological background, and hope to lead students into the charming and inspiring world of thought.
