設計材料在工業之各種不同領域上扮演著舉足輕重的關鍵性角色,本課程對設計材料的學習提供詳細具體的介紹,此課程的目的在使學生熟悉當代的設計材料、製造方法及生產程序,讓學生獲取充份的設計材料知識,進而研究更專門的材料、製造程序及組織架構從而能運用在未來產品設計上,課程最主要目標是幫助學生學習及了解各種設計材料的製造方法,程序及其應用;本課程將分別針對金屬、塑膠、陶瓷、聚合體及複合材料作一一的介紹,課堂上除實際教材講授外,會以適當的產品及部件說明實際設計材料及部品的製造方式及生產程序,以進一步提升學生產品設計的能力。
