This module aims to provide comprehensive readings in modes of classical and contemporary urban planning that involve planning history, process and outcomes. Students will be introduced to a list of selected international exemplars that dominating local planning technocratic decisions in urban design and planning schemes.
This module has the following objectives:
1. It seeks to provide students with foundations of planning by introducing variegated historical roots of city planning pioneers, principles and annotated theories;
2. It seeks to provide students with an understanding of the dynamic relations involving city cultures, forms and functions that planning mechanism operates;
3. It is aimed at enhancing the student’s ability to critically learn from exemplars in urban design and planning procedures and products that leads to built environmental sustainability; and
4.
