本課程積極性的目的是讓同學對「建築」這個行業有一個全盤性的了解，使同學能更有系統地做生涯規劃。本課程消極性的目的在讓同學檢視自己的性格與興趣，作為是否要「投入」或「退出」這個行業的參考。

The active purpose of this course is to give students a comprehensive understanding of the "architecture" industry, so that students can make career planning more systematically. 本課程是建築系的入門課程，主要在對「什麼是人造環境？」、「什麼是建築？」、「建築相關的行業有哪些？」、「建築系在念什麼？」、「如何念好建築設計」、「建築系的出路」等問題作一概略性的介紹。
